About Us

Vision2040 Limited is a Sri Lankan Organization for Public-Private and Civil Society Cooperation., which was instigated as a collective effort of Academics, Professionals, Business Leaders, Inventors, Civil Society activists, industrialists, Agriculturists and Undergraduates of Sri Lankan origin, living in Sri Lanka and other parts of the world. Vision 2040 engages the leading Academic, Professional, Business, Political, Opinion and other leaders of society to shape Economic, Social, and Environmental interventions. It was registered in August 2021 as a Limited Liability within a Social enterprise framework. Operations of the organisation is carried out from Nugegoda- a Suburban town of Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is independent, impartial, and not tied to any special interests. Shareholders are not paid dividends as in other companies, rather, company profits will be re-invested in research & development activities, and programs aligned with the Vision, ‘a developed Sri Lanka by the year 2040’ while upholding the highest standards of governance.

Prof.Aminda-Methsila-Perera

Prof. Aminda Methsila

A commercially astute academic with over two decades of experience, and extensive skills in commercial finance, insurance consultation, business transformation initiatives, modeling business strategies, business forecasting, and analysis. In his long and successful career, he has held a foray of executive and advisory positions within the public sector and state corporations. The most noteworthy among them are his four years of service as the Executive Credit Committee Chairman of People’s Bank Sri Lanka (2015-2019), Civil Aviation Authority (2015-2019), and The Ministry of Public Enterprise Development (2017-2019). He is currently the Head of the Department of Accountancy at the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka

Senaka is an Applied Sociologist with extensive social development experience exceeding 20 years, as Founder /CEO of Voice of Youth and Social Development Specialist of Plantation Human Development Trust in Sri Lanka. Senaka is a Certified Trainer & Assessor in Australia. He currently works as Director of AKSAP International Pty Ltd a Melbourne-based human development consultancy firm that offers strategic consulting for public, non-profit and commercial entities. Senaka holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Sociology from Colombo University.

Shiran Karunaratne

A sixteen-time national award-winning entrepreneur and philanthropist, unwavering in his demeanor within the private sector since his first appointment as the Vice-President of the International Christian Chamber of Commerce - Sri Lanka in 1996. He went on to found the Puttalam District Chamber of Commerce in 2006, but, from among the plethora of his accomplishments, is best known for his appointment as a member of the General Council of the SCARC Chamber of Commerce in 2010, appointment as Vice-President of the Federation Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka, and of course the invitation to join the Directorate of World Fair Trade Organisation Asia (WFTO- Asia) in July 2021, in recognition of his skills, achievements, and his capacity to nurture and support.

Neelakanth is the Executive Director/CEO of Industrial Services Bureau (ISB) - Kurunegala. He has obtained a Master’s degree in Industrial Development from the University of East Anglia, Norwich, United Kingdom. His knowledge, exposure, and expertise in Regional, Economic, and Industrial Development, Investment and Trade Promotion, SME Management / Development, and Project Management have made him a key resource person in industrial development. He has also obtained advanced diplomas in Small and Medium Enterprise Development, Investment and Trade Promotion, and Regional Development from Japan, Sweden, Vietnam, and South Korea. He holds a Diploma in Project Management and Evaluation from Miloda Academy, affiliated with the Ministry of Finance.

A recognized and award-winning researcher and consultant, who has dedicated her career to her passion for the pursuit of gender equality and its applications in developing societies. She is currently the Head of the Department of Social Studies at the Open University of Sri Lanka (2016) and the Director of Gender Equity and Equality (2021); besides the other vital roles she carries out with regard to the MA Program and Regional Representation.

Sudaraka completed his MA in Development Practice from Peradeniya University (offered in collaboration with Earth Institute, Columbia University) He is a well-established international policy coordination specialist with experience in program management, audio-visual content production, and human resource management, who initiated his career with organizations of wide repute, such as the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), South Asian Policy and Research Institute (SAPRI), Asia Network for Free Elections (ANFREL), and the People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections.

Dr Manjula Wickramasinghe is a university lecturer who is interested in supporting Sri Lankan inventors and innovators to develop their intellectual marvels to application and commerlization levels. He was graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya and obtained his PhD from the Texas Tech University, USA. He also worked in the industry in USA before returning to Sri Lanka. He is willing to coach and mentor inventors, product developers, and entrepreneurs through Vision 2040 as Chairman of its Triple i Taskforce.

Prasanna is an inventor recognised by the Sri Lanka Inventions Commission. He has two Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applications in his name and four pending patents with Sri Lanka Inventions Commission. Prasanna has won several awards nationally and internationally for a cooking pot he invented which could save 40% of energy and time. This product represented World Inventions Competition held in Andhra Pradesh in 2018. He did a pilot program for Dilmah, to apply solar energy to dry tea, which eventually led to a more advanced research and development exercise with the involvement of world famous Apricus Solar.

Worked as field researcher of Centre for Policy Alternative, Terranzov scrutinized political and socioeconomic problems of the Jaffna peninsula.He was one of the organisers of reconciliation seminar conducted by Thanthai Chelva Trust for artists and writers in order to promote peace building throughout the country.As a member of Jaffna People for Coexistence, he takes part in community building programs with several communities.
