Objectives: YES, stands for Young English Speakers which makes English Education (skills in writing, speaking, reading, listening, and thinking) the primary objective. However, the Program has several other equally weighted objectives such as, Life skills development, promoting inter-ethnic interaction and peace building, Global citizenship education with special focus on democracy, human rights & equality, Attitude development, entrepreneurship and inculcating excellence among youth aged 15-24
Approach: The program is designed with a youth friendly, result driven approach. The Program will be open for youth aged 15-24. A YES club will consist of 3 to 5 members who can meet regularly for group activities. Learning will be defocused, activity based and interactive. An App supported on Android and iOS devises will be developed for this purpose. YES app will be the main tool in the engagement process with videos, instructions & guides. YES club members will have to watch videos and receive coaching/guidance from registered Coaches. After 1 st Engagement (lesson) an evaluation will be done by assessing their activities /Assignments uploaded as Videos. An evaluation team who will pass the relevant YES club to the next engagement if found successful. Youth attached to YES clubs will learn subject matter mentioned under objectives through learning English. The same platform (App) will be used to educate them on good governance, Democracy, Human rights social market economy and current affairs (in the process of learning English - through case studies, NEWS analysis, new word search, presentation topics, group activity topics etc) keeping them UpToDate and enhancing their world knowledge, developing them into Global Citizens. The platform will encourage membership to communicate across their ethnic /cultural boundaries, promoting ethnic harmony. \ App will provide career guidance video tutorials giving the membership UpToDate information and linking them with education /training bodies. A YES club may be formed in the Family, neighbourhood, School, University, vocational training centre, Workplace, or any other setting. A group must be formed by youth who have a genuine interest in learning the language. They will have to face a simple test to see whether they have a basic understanding of the Language. They will be enrolled into the program at the lowest membership category called ‘Bronze’. There are four membership categories defined based on the expected competency levels the clubs could achieve.
